  • Reading Dogs Visit Library

    Fozzy is one of several "reading dogs" that visit St. Helena Primary School through the 4 Paws program.  Dogs visit with their trainers and students are invited to come to the library to read to one of the therapy dogs.   For more information about the 4Paws Learning and Wellness Center visit www.4pawscenter.org

  • Francis Ford Coppola Brainstorms with Second Graders

     Second graders at St. Helena Primary School were visited by Francis Ford Coppola on March 11th as part their thematic unit of study, “People who make a difference.”  Mr. Coppola makes a difference with the stories he shares through his movies.  After sharing details about his early childhood and school memories, Mr. Coppola brainstormed with students to create a story board that included characters, setting, a problem and solution.

  • Authors Festival Begins

    Our Authors Festival began this week with a visit by Kyle and Amy Goleno who wrote Maggie and Maddy: Adventures in Napa Valley.  Kindergarten and second grade students participated in a morning assembly with the writers.  The husband and wife writing team shared how they came up with their story idea and the writing process they used to finish the book.

  • Science Festival

    Students had a great time at our Science Festival hosted by Lawrence Hall of Science.
    The three states of matter, solids, liquids and gases were all explored through hands-on science experiments.

  • Staff Dresses up for Dr. Seuss Pajama Day!

    The staff of St. Helena Primary had fun dressing up for Dr. Seuss' birthday celebration.  March 1st was designated pajama day and students could bring their favorite stuffed animal and book to school.
