RESEARCH 411

For online encyclopedias and databases through St. Helena High School Research Website:

1. Go to http://www.sthelena.k12.ca.us

2. Click on St. Helena High School (left side bar)

3. Hover over Library/Media Center (top bar)

4. Click on Research on pull down menu

5. For online encyclopedias, click on Locating Resources

6. Scroll Down

Click on Worldbook Online (Note: you can also access this on the right side of the Research home page by scrolling down to the icon, or log onto www.worldbook.com). Please see Ms. Swan for username and passwords. They are posted by the student computers in the library and the lab.

For online databases:

Click on the icon for the database of your choice on the right side of the Research Home Page.

Username is shhs + your full name + your graduation year, for example: shhsjoestudent2012

Password is your first name, for example, joe

§ For ABC CLIO Database - World History: Ancient/ Medieval – See Ms. Swan for username and password. They are posted by the computers in the library and the lab.

Hover over Library/Media Center

Choose Library Catalog/Portal

Choose St. Helena High School

On left side, choose Webpath Express

Type in your keyword to search for websites about your topic

To log on to Destiny Quest to place holds on SHUSD books:

Repeat steps 1-3 above

Choose Library Catalog instead of Research

Choose St. Helena High School

Choose Log In

Enter your 4 digit Student ID from the RLS

Your password is your last name

Search keywords

To place hold, open details about a book

Choose Hold It, and Ms. Swan will save it for you
